How To Change Windows 8.1 Color Scheme
How-do-you-do,
Thank yous for posting in the Microsoft Community.
Delight answer these questions to get more clarity on this outcome.
- What exactly do you mean when you say "change the background color of my text screens"?
- Are you referring to the text background on Internet Explorer or in whatsoever awarding or program?
As you lot are aware of themes, you lot may want to know more than nigh the "High Contrast Themes". These themes make items on your screen easier to encounter. The High Contrast themes don't include automatic window border colors or desktop background slide shows.

Actually, I'm trying to make sort of a "depression-dissimilarity" scheme. In earlier versions of windows, you could choose the colors for every segment of the brandish. This not merely included foreground colors and wall-paper, but background and text colors as well. I tin't find the controls in Win 8.1. They might not be easy to discover, like they were in earlier versions of Windows, but they have to be at that place.

Windows chooses the best brandish settings for your PC based on your monitor. If you lot want to suit your display settings, or if they were changed and you want to restore default settings, here are a few things you tin can try from this commodity:

Thank you, just no. It doesn't aid.
In Win 7, you tin right click on the background, select "personalize," get down to the bottom of the window and click on color. The screen that comes upwards next differs from Win 7 in that Win seven has "Advanced." This section allows y'all to micro-manage your colors. Hither lies my trouble.

I establish a forum where people were discussing getting around the lack of this tool. They were able to arrange the color scheme in the registry. This is going to exist a great deal tougher than I had imagined. While typing on a white background is tiring, one cannot edit a photograph confronting a glaring white background.
There has to be an "App" to get in and change this. I mean, this should be easy for anybody that codes. I've already bought a start carte from Stardock. I hope this doesn't mean that nosotros are going to accept to purchase all hereafter MS Os'south piecemeal. Is this what MS intended?

In settings, click on Personalization, this takes you to Themes, scroll down for "Loftier Dissimilarity Themes", click on whatsoever of the 4 preset themes; your "color" choice (shown at the bottom of screen) will now look like the "High Dissimilarity Theme" y'all chose, click on it ("color") and change the colors of windows and text per your preferences. I personally inverse just the background color to a baby blue color which is very easy on the eyes and looks groovy!

Okay, I FINALLY figured out how to do this! Go to the Personalization screen. Choose one of the High Contrast Themes. When that screen displays, it will let yous to change the colors of your desktop, buttons, title bars, etc. You may have to play with the colors a footling to go what you want, but I personally am thrilled to get away from the ghost of White/Gray or Dark Gray themes. At present I don't get headaches from the glare!
Promise this helps. Funny the Microsoft IT person couldn't figure this out - and only replied those white/greyness themes were "past design". LOL.
